The basics of yoga alignment-fine tuning our individual yoga experience.
"Why don't I look like her in that pose?" "What should I be feeling when I do this?" "Am I doing this right?"
This will be a deep Yoga 101 workshop with plenty of hands on assistance. Perfect for the beginner who's wondering what the heck that teacher is saying, and how to experience the benefits of the poses. And also for the practiced yogi, who wants to fine tune their own yoga experience.
Everybody is operating a differently wired human body. Too often we compare ourselves to other practitioners or get caught up in what we expect it "should" look or feel like.
We will take this opportunity to develope understanding and loving patience for ourselves on the mat.
This workshop will provide us with the opportunity to look deeply athe our practice. We'll learn about our body, what we are feeling and how we can find a truer expression of a healthy yoga practice with attention to alignement that is appropriate for our needs, and hands on assists in poses to experience the potential of each posture.
July 14 class will be held at St Charles from 3-4:30. July 28 will be held at Bartlett from 12-1:30.
Please be sure to arrive at the appropriate location with enough time to prepare your space.
The investment for this educational class is $30, and will serve to prepare you for a life long practice with safety and enjoyment.
Classes are limited to only 10 students to ensure sufficient attention, and thus a deep educational experience.
It is not required to take both classes. Students are welcome to come to one or both, and will benefit from the experience either way.
